This past year was a year of new milestones. In the winter of 2021 we were awarded a grant from the Highline School District that allowed us to expand our presence in their schools for the remainder of the 2022 school year. In January we were able to increase the number of mentoring assignments from 10 to 34, with a total of 303 sessions completed through the end of the school year. We added six new mentors to our roster, working with students on flute, French horn, piano, trumpet, percussion and clarinet.
Last fall our grant was extended for the 2022-23 school year, and we were able to increase the number of mentoring assignments; from October through December we have delivered over 230 sessions, providing instruction to 184 students in seven schools.
Over the course of the full 2022 calendar year, we instructed over 240 students at schools in the Highline District, with over 530 separate mentoring sessions delivered.
Through the remainder of the current school year we anticipate completing another 400 sessions in these schools, supporting these students as they become more proficient and work to master their instruments.
Our Mission for 2023: Continue to support our programs offered in the Highline School District and expand to other underserved schools in our region.
Your Donations Make A Difference
Every donation, large or small, makes a difference.
$65 funds a single mentoring session.
$80 funds a master class presentation.
$400 provides a classroom with a mentor for a full quarter/semester.
$1200 places a mentor in a classroom for the entire school year.
Individual donations represent the majority of funds required to continue our programs through the end of the year, and we would not be able to offer the level of support to music programs without your generosity – thank you!!
